Watanabe Textile wrapped blanket shawl linen

Watanabe Textile wrapped blanket shawl linen

¥25,300 JPY
blue
Description
This blanket shawl was first available in conjunction with the "Watanabe Textile Exhibition - vague outline -" held at Iwakura AA in December 2025.

Each piece was carefully woven by Tatsuyasu Watanabe of Watanabe Textile, whose workshop is located in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Fuji, surrounded by abundant nature.

The outer layer is made of linen and the inner layer is made of brushed cotton. It combines a cool, refreshing feel with a soft warmth, making it comfortable to wear in any season. The layering of different materials creates a rich, expressive look.

Water, forest, earth, and sky: the natural scenery that we unconsciously see in our daily lives is quietly incorporated into the fabric through layered weaving.

It can be draped over the shoulders as a blanket, used as bedding or a lap blanket, or wrapped around the neck as a shawl.
This is a piece that will fit into your daily life and is a natural choice as a gift.

Brand

Watanabe Textile
This is a textile brand created by textile artist Tatsuyasu Watanabe, who has a studio in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, at the foot of Mount Fuji. His work draws on the sensibilities he has cultivated in fields such as architecture, photography, and art, as well as the weaving techniques of his family business.
Based on the senses he senses in the nature at the northern foot of Mount Fuji and the aesthetic sense he gleaned from his daily fieldwork, he shapes vague contours through layering weaves. The resulting fabric is both dynamic and delicate, exuding a quiet strength.
