Taka Haruo Scissors Manufacturing Takeji B-5 black rattan roll
Description
AA has held several exhibitions of Taku's work.
Each time, I spend a long time with Taku, exchanging ideas and deciding on the layout of the venue and the balance of items.
His family's factory also has a unique atmosphere and I really like that place.
We have prepared a new work by Taku.
"Takejisaku" is a style that inherits the traditional techniques of Taku Haruo Scissors Factory, which has been manufacturing scissors for four generations in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Traditionally, many scissors of this shape have been made, such as Hakata scissors and Honshu scissors.
The base metal is extremely soft iron and the steel is a composite steel material made of Shirogami No. 2 .
The surface is covered with a black film, giving it a texture that allows the iron to be seen through, and it is hand-sharpened and back-scraped using cutting scissors techniques that have been passed down for 90 years, ensuring that the blade maintains its sharpness for a long time.
The more you use them, the thinner the film becomes, revealing the dull iron color of the base metal and changing the texture. The rattan applied to the parts that come into contact with your hands also changes color and gains luster the more you use them. Made using the same manufacturing method as the professional scissors used in factories, which we have been making for many years, these scissors can be used as both sewing scissors and stationery scissors, making them perfect for everyday use.
Repairs and resharpening are also available.
