amachi. × Kamizoe "Records of phenomena" art piece
Description
This art piece was produced and sold at amachi.'s exhibition "Records of phenomena," held at Iwakura AA in August 2025. Kato Hiroshi, a craftsman at Kamisoe, whose studio is located in Nishijin, Kyoto, expressed the process of the exhibition's theme, "Recording Phenomena," from his own unique perspective. Sumi ink and persimmon tannins are layered on gray-dyed karakami paper, and each piece has a unique texture depending on the humidity, temperature, and movement of the dye. This work captures a "phenomenon" that can only be created in that moment.
Inside the box is amachi.'s designer, The box contains a fabric art piece created by Tenchi Yoshimoto with the same concept . The fabric is fixed in place in the box, so it can be placed flat or hung on the wall.

Designer Tenchi Yoshimoto was born in Elk Valley, a mountainous region in Northern California, to parents who were musicians. He spent his childhood in an environment where everything had to be made by hand, surrounded by nature with no electricity or running water.
He then moved to Japan and, after graduating from high school, began making clothes on his own. After gaining experience working for domestic and international brands and pattern offices, he established the menswear label Amachi in 2017, setting up an atelier in the foothills of Nagano Prefecture.
