Taku Haruo Scissors Manufacturing was founded in 1938 in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture. Scissors production began in this area, which has developed as a production center for abacus, Japanese scissors, and cutting scissors, with the first generation, Taku Takeji, starting out.
Currently, the third-generation owner, Takeo Taka, and the fourth-generation owner, Daisuke Taka, lead the family in the production of scissors, dividing up the work involved in hundreds of processes. There are more than 100 different types of scissors, ranging from everyday scissors to custom-made scissors for special purposes.
