For the first time, Iwakura AA will be exhibiting and selling scissors from Taku Haruo Scissors Factory.
You will also be able to see an installation piece that visualizes the phenomenon of scissors "cutting," so we hope you will come and see it.
Ono City is located in the central-southern part of Hyogo Prefecture, almost in the center of Higashi-Harima. Taku Haruo Scissors Manufacturing was founded in 1938 by the founder, Takeji Taku, in Ono City, which had developed as a production center for abacus, Japanese scissors, and cloth cutting scissors (cutting scissors). At the time, the company manufactured cutting scissors and specialized scissors while outsourcing the forging process.
During the time of the second-generation owner, Haruo Taku, there were many craftsmen and the work of individual craftsmen did not receive much attention. However, through trial and error in a wide range of work, he built the foundation of the current factory.
Currently, the third-generation owner, Takeo Taku, and the fourth-generation owner, Daisuke Taku, are in charge of hundreds of manufacturing processes within the family.
There are over 100 different types of scissors, ranging from everyday tools to custom-made scissors for special work.
In 2008, in addition to "Takejisaku," which they have been making since the beginning, they launched "TAjiKA," and are pursuing their own ideas of "scissors" as a tool that can be used with their hands, based on their accumulated skills, knowledge, and experience.
